Jalene Kanani Hitzeman — Design Partner
NOHO Home by Jalene Kanani
At Laʻi ʻŌpua Village 4 Hema, a home is not just a structure — it is a feeling. It is belonging. It is the experience of walking through your front door and knowing you are exactly where you are supposed to be.
That feeling does not happen by accident. It is designed.
A Designer of Hawaiʻi
Jalene Kanani Hitzeman is a Native Hawaiian interior and exterior designer and the founder of NOHO Home — a design brand built on the belief that Hawaiian homes should feel authentically Hawaiian. Warm. Grounded. Connected to the land, the culture, and the people who call these islands home.
Jalene's work is recognized nationally and locally — featured in House Beautiful and Homes & Gardens, seen on HGTV's Renovation Aloha, and honored with the 2024 HD Expo Award. She has brought her distinctive design vision to collaborations with Hawaiian Airlines, the Bishop Museum, and ʻIolani Palace. Her retail locations span Hawaiʻi, including Ala Moana.
Designing Laʻi ʻŌpua Village 4 Hema
Kalanianaʻole Development chose Jalene Kanani as the design partner for Laʻi ʻŌpua Village 4 Hema because this project deserved more than beautiful homes — it deserved homes that feel like Hawaiʻi.
Jalene designed both the interiors and exteriors of all four home models — Kīhāpai, Honua, ʻĀkea, and Hōkū. Every design decision was made with the Native Hawaiian family in mind. Natural materials. Warm tones. Open spaces that flow between indoors and out. Homes that breathe with the land they sit on.
These are not generic homes dressed up with island décor. They are homes designed from the inside out to reflect the values, the culture, and the spirit of the lāhui.
NOHO Home
NOHO Home by Jalene Kanani is more than a design firm — it is a movement to bring authentic Hawaiian design into everyday living. From furniture and textiles to full interior and exterior design, NOHO Home creates spaces that honor Hawaiian culture and bring it into the modern home.
